Named after the well-known 18th-century Pugliese painter the 'Corrado Giaquinto' Provincial Art Gallery houses a collection of medieval and modern art with Venetian paintings Neapolitan ceramics and nativity scenes and paintings and icons from Puglia. The gallery is located on the top floor of Bari's Palazzo della Provincia (Provincial Palace). It enjoys splendid sea views and an enviable strategic position on the Nazario Sauro seafront just ten minutes' walk from the train station and five minutes' from the Murat district. The gallery which stages temporary exhibitions alongside its permanent collections offers a unique overview of art in Puglia from the 11th to the 19th centuries. Of particular note are a number of beautiful works by Venetian artists such as Giovanni Bellini Paolo Veronese Jacopo Tintoretto and members of the Vivarini family . Other must-sees include paintings by Corrado Giaquinto and the collection of 19th century works by Giuseppe De Nittis Francesco Netti Domenico Morelli and Giovanni Boldini.
